The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has residency research requirements with opportunities for resident research presentations at local, regional, and national meetings. Interdepartmental research collaborations are currently underway with the Arnold School of Public Health. The Department involves interested medical students in OBGYN research projects.
The Department helped form and continues to be involved in the Interdisciplinary Conference on Pregnancy and the Health of Women and Children (ICPHWC) at the University of South Carolina. The ICPHWC is a multidisciplinary group of clinicians, researchers, and public health officials who work together to promote research and grant development related to pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes. Interdepartmental research collaborations are currently underway with the Arnold School of Public Health.
The Department promotes interdisciplinary research in women’s health by coordinating the annual Women’s Health Research Forum on the campus of the University of South Carolina each autumn. http://whrf.med.sc.edu/
